REYES BAGS GOLDS FOR PHILIPPINES, UST IN POOMSAE TAEKWONDO

A Technology and Livelihood Education student brought honor to the country and to the university in takewondo’s poomsae event.
Mr. Rodolfo Reyes Jr., a third-year BSEd major in Technology and Livelihood Education student, bagged a gold medal for Men’s Poomsae during the 28th Southeast Asian Games held at Singapore.
Reyes also won gold and silver medals for the University in the Poomsae Taekwondo Championships in Season 78 of the Universities Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP).
Reyes was part of the UST squad that won the gold medal for the Men’s Group Category. Reyes also bagged a silver medal in the Men’s Individual Division.
Poomsae is also called performance taekwondo. Poomsae follows a pattern of pre-arranged moves in taekwondo such as blocks, strikes and kicks.
