In support of the College's Project ELATE (Enhancing Learner Agency and Trajectory in Education), the Bachelor of Library and Information Science Program held a lecture-forum entitled “Competencies Required from LIS Professionals in the 21st Century” last January 25 at the SPED Room. Invited guest was Hon. Lourdes T. David, PRC Board for Librarians member. The activity was attended by all BLIS students. The lecture-forum provided the participants with the latest trends in library science practice, the changing roles of library and information professionals in the society, and the new competencies for today’s librarians.
